She’s building a brand she’s proud of and preparing to launch her own loc gel, created from years of hands-on experience with real clients. (We can’t wait to try it.)
“I knew at eight years old that hair was my calling,” she says. “I tried to ignore it for a long time, but it never left me.”
When Things Didn’t Go as Planned
Choosing cosmetology over the expected college path wasn’t always easy for Ma’Yanna. Seeing friends take more traditional routes made her question herself at times, even though she knew where her heart was.
Then, just as she started working out of a salon, a snowstorm hit Cincinnati and a car crashed into the building, destroying the area where her booth was located.
“I cried all day and night,” she says. “I wanted to do my hair so bad.”
It was a setback, but not the end.

A Sign, Going Viral, and a Shift in Momentum
At that low point, Ma’Yanna leaned into her faith. Later that same day, she posted a video on TikTok. It became her first viral post!
Watching the views climb felt like confirmation. Not just that people were watching, but that they were connecting with her, her work, and her message.

Turning Attention Into Something Real
As her audience grew, Ma’Yanna realized - People were interested, but they needed a clear place to go.
Before Hopp, her links and information felt scattered. Clients had to jump between platforms to understand her services, book appointments, or keep up with what she was offering.
Hopp gave her one clean, intentional place to send people. Services, booking, updates, and soon, her product launch. All in one place that actually felt like her brand.
It didn’t just look better. It worked better.

With Hopp’s analytics, Ma’Yanna can see what people are clicking, what they care about, and where interest turns into action. Instead of guessing, she knows what’s working and what needs adjusting.
“That part surprised me,” she says. “I can see who’s clicking what, and it helps me understand my clients better.”

One Link. Less Confusion. More Yeses.
With Hopp, Ma’Yanna noticed people were clicking more and asking fewer questions. Clients knew exactly what she offered and how to book with her.
Sharing her page became effortless. One link. No explanations. No back-and-forth.
Most importantly, her brand finally felt organized and professional without losing its warmth.
“Hopp helped me put everything in one place so it actually makes sense for my clients,” she explains.
What She’d Tell Anyone Building Something From Scratch
If there’s one thing Ma’Yanna would tell anyone building something of their own, it’s this:
Trust your skill. Stay consistent. And make things easier for the people trying to support you.
When your tools work with you, not against you, growth feels a lot more doable.
